‘패크랫PACKRAT’은 뉴욕의 극단인 CTT가 창작하고 한국의 복합문화기업 옐로밤이 기획한 환경 인형극으로 2017년 워크숍을 거쳐 2020년 뉴욕 DIXON PLACE딕슨 플레이스에서 초연된 작품입니다.
2022년 한국 초연을 위한 워크숍에 참여할 전문 배우를 모집합니다. 워크숍 과정에서 선발된 배우분들은 한국 초연 및 아시아 투어에 참여하게 될 예정입니다.
*본 공연은 한국문화예술위원회 한국예술국제교류지원사업에 선정되어 문화예술진흥기금 보조금으로 운영되는 공연입니다.

시놉시스
자연 그리고 인간과 동물의 삶의 관계에 대해 고민하며 떠나게 되는 주인공 Bud의 명랑한 여정을 따라 전개된다. 평화로운 사막 한 가운데, 지나가던 사람이 창밖으로 던진 담배꽁초로 인해 산불이 나게 되는데, 산불을 피해 도망치던 다른 동물들은 Bud가 인간의 물건들을 수집한 것 때문에 인간들이 의도적으로 불을 지른 것이라고 오해한다. Bud는 다른 동물들로부터 비난을 받게 되고 격렬한 불 속에 혼자 남게 되고, 알려지지 않은 미지의 땅 Artemisia를 찾기 위해 떠난 길에서 불의의 사고로 친구를 잃게 된다. Bud는 사막에 사는 다양한 동물들과 함께 동물과 인간이 공존하는 세상에 관한 긴 토론을 갖게 된다

‘PACKRAT’ is an environmental puppet show created by CTT, a theater company in
New York and organized by Yellow Bomb, a Korean complex cultural company. This piece was premiered at DIXON PLACE, New York in 2020 after its workshop in 2017.
We are recruiting professional actors to participate in the workshop for the 2022 Korea premiere. The actors who are ed during the workshop will be participated in the Korea premiere and Asian tour.

Synopsis
At the center of the action is Bud, a peculiar rodent with a penchant for hoarding humankind’s goods. When a discarded cigar sparks a wild fire, the animals in Bud’s valley flee for their lives. Already an outcast among the desert animals for his hoarding instincts, he gets blamed for the humanmade disasters infiltrating their lives. When they ban him from the community, Bud must set out alone amidst a raging fire, to confront humanmade dangers and a few natural ones. PACKRAT is a poignant account of Bud’s journey to find his place in the world, and his ultimate realization that the interconnectedness of life rules the day.
